That’s the Puzzle Box Hunt.

It’s a laugh-out-loud adventure where your team explores a mall or large venue, unlocking mysterious boxes and solving clever puzzles along the way.

Each Puzzle Box brings new surprises—riddles, clues, and challenges that test your teamwork and creativity. Solve one, and the next awaits, until the full mystery is solved.

Your phone becomes your guide as you submit codes, keep track of your time, and race to finish as fast as you can. Or double the fun by challenging another group of friends to see who can crack the final code first!

Perfect for couples, small groups of 2–3, or families with kids ages 9 and up.
This is a Puzzle Box.
1. Sign Up to Play
Grab your crew and have one person sign up for a Puzzle Box Hunt account and then book a starting time for your game. Games are $25 a team. Each team should be 2–3 adults or a family with 2-3 kids.
If you have a larger group, split into two teams and race each other! Have one person from each team sign up for a Puzzle Box Hunt account and book starting time slots next to each other. Both teams can start at the SAME TIME during one of the starting time slots.
2. Receive Your Game Link
After booking, you'll receive an email with the link to start the game. Click it when your starting time slot arrives. You can start anywhere in Riverwoods.

3. Find the Puzzle Boxes
When your game begins, you’ll receive maps pointing to where the four Puzzle Boxes are hidden throughout Riverwoods. Each one is tucked away inside a local shop, waiting for your team to discover it.
4. Follow the Clues
Your phone will guide you through each step. Every box has a unique puzzle inside! Some are tricky, some are silly, all are fun. Open the door, dive in, and see what challenge awaits your team next!
5. Race (Without Running!)
Solve each Puzzle Box as fast as you can to finish with the best possible time. Compete for bragging rights or challenge another group to see who finishes first—just remember, speed walking is encouraged… sprinting through stores, not so much.
6. Earn Your Ranking
When you complete all four boxes, you’ll finish the hunt with an official Puzzle Box ranking and the satisfaction of conquering the challenge together.
This isn’t your average escape room because you’re not locked in anywhere!

The Puzzle Box Hunt lets you explore a large venue (like a mall) freely as you and your team hunt for hidden puzzle boxes and solve the puzzles they hold inside.
Need a break? Pause your timer, grab a treat or a beverage, then pick up right where you left off. The hunt is totally flexible, so you can play at your own pace.
And the best part? It’s more affordable than a traditional escape room!
It’s an experience like nothing else: part puzzle solving, part scavenger hunt, all fun.
